yeah 8) but some girly girls dont seem like the karate type and then come alive and go crazy :P when they do uechi-ryu. same with little kids. they could seem shy and quiet and then they become some crazy karate dude as soon as theyre in the dojo. :D

yeah well all my friends think im this big tomboy just cuz i take karate.. all types of martial arts are made up to be a guy thing. idk maybe us girls need to spread the word haha.

i think everyone should be 16 to get a black belt, no junior belts. 16 is the age where its been long enough and your mature enough to test.

sometimes you see these tiny little 8 yr olds with jr black belts and thats just crazy :?

a black belt is a huge achievement and it shouldnt be given out ...

i think separate girls classes would keep the girls with uechi. thats a good idea. many girls are upset when they are surrounded by boys. karate is made up to be "a guy sport" but all us uechi girls know thats not true

Then teach them separately, or mix them into a game like sensei says so that the kids get good at the moves without knowing it. then, by the time theyre older and want to learn kata, theyll be good at the moves and ...
