Hello Van,
I have been away for a while. Hope you and yours are doing well.
Thank you very much for the post. I have a few comments and hope you don't mind. They are just my opinion so whatever anyone feels about it is fine with me.
I imagine he (Master Uechi) would likely be a little ...

Re: UECHI LONGEVITY
I still remember not long ago when it was frozen outside (in Boston), say 20F, I was walking around in a muscle shirt. No problem. Well, it is about 58 today here in San Francisco, I am wearing three layers indoor. What the hell happened?

Re: UECHI LONGEVITY
It is not getting any easier. Thinking positive should do it if only the body would listen.
I will be 72 in three months. Have been practicing Uechi Ryu since 1965. I remember the days I could go on forever but the body seems to have a mind of its own nowadays.
Just finished another workout ...

Re: ALONG THE WAY
Yes, Bob Lee's Islander, where you can get expensive drinks and even more expensive and phony Chinese food. I can say it because it is not there anymore. Mr Lee got filthy rich and disappeared with some sexy young chick many moons ago and never to be seen again. Wish I could afford to do that stuff ...

Re: UECHI LONGEVITY
Been pondering about this for a while. Part of getting more senior by the day, I guess.
This morning I read "saddened to hear about the passing of Uechi Kanmei Sensei."
With utmost respect to Kanmei Uechi Sensei, I can't help but to think:
Another one!
He was only a young guy.
It seemed quite a ...

Re: WALTER - VAN - & ME
Real nice! Really nice!
Sometimes I wonder if I made a huge mistake moving away. I left Boston about 40 years ago (ten years after the first time I walked up the Mattson Academy stairs by the way). What that means is I left everything behind. As a good friend said "lock, stock and barrel". My wife ...

Re: forum to date
Since the majority of my posts pertain to Uechi Ryu training, I do not hear from many viewers. I do check the number of viewers however. I am pleased and flattered, to see so many viewing the posts. I keep telling myself that others are watching, so I might as well continue.

Re: ALONG THE WAY
Totally enjoyed reading this thread. Brings back real good memories. Thanks Art.
Time flies. It is really the good memories and the believe (yes, illusion) that I can still do it that keep me going at it still.
I have always been sort of a loner so regretfully didn't associate much with Art and ...

Re: UECHI LONGEVITY
I believe it is all in the mind. If your mind is weak---, well, no need for me to finish the sentence.
Let me quote a question I recalled from somewhere: "How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?"
It irritates me when I hear someone says: "I am too old for this". Or, "You are too ...

Van, As I quoted earlier: .---" Beware though, it is known in the Kungfu community that over training in Chi Kung, or trained improperly, may damage the practitioner's health and organs also.
