I just have to disagree, his last post is a prime example of what I'm talking about.

And dovetails pretty neatly with the tone and content of his other posts.

I also forgot something--since you mentioned that our sources of information.

Akil stated that we put Saddam into power--don't care whose sources you use--that is just not factually correct.

Sorry I got cut off.

If he really does not feel welcome he has only himself to blame.

He is also all wet on that one because as I see it pretty much everyone goes t great length to make sure that peopel feel welcome.

Heck, I treated the guy with great ccare and respect--gave him every benefit of the doubt--right up until he proved to me that is is not really interested in actual discussion.

All he really wants is bad mouth the USA every chance he gets.

And you know--not saying he's always wrong--just that he should be a stand up guy and stick around and defend what he says and claims.

For example I would love to hear how he personally had better intel than Egypt and Jordan.

Also would like to see some support for his "the CIA did it" drumbeating.

Folks

Made a mistake earlier--It should have read Egypt--NOT Syria that told us Iraq had WMD's.

I do agree with a lot of your points, cxt.

This is a difficult medium to transmit tone and I think most folks try to be reasonable. How they're read is highly dependent on the reader. I think Akil reads us with harsher tones because he expects rejection. Few people agree with him, and that makes it understandable to me. So I try to go out of my way to make sure my tone isn't mistaken around him. Not everyone has the same thickness of skin. Those with thinner skins are often told to toughen up. "If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen." IMHO, the people with thinner skins have a purpose, if we listen. They keep us civilized. Sometimes it's a disservice to tough everything out and let strong words and challenges and even rudeness prevail when the same conversation can be held politely.

On the other hand, sometimes you need a bigger stick. So I definitely don't want to cramp anyone's style. I'm just making observations. People can shred them as they will.
