The guy that looks like the owners of Ben and Jerry's?

And I'm disappointed at the Canadians for not mentioning Neil Peart.

Not all Asian girls practice drums I guess.
If I did this I'd have some fingers missing.

I'd be more impressed if she was naked.

Go see KODO!!

Post by Kuma-de »

I saw Kodo a few years back in a small, older but extremely accoustic venue. 4th row seats and it seemed to invigorate the heart!

They are the best!!

Kodo is one of the best groups.

Sensei Martin uses recorded tyco music at most of our events as a preliminary, lead-on piece to set a martial arts atmosphere or during breaks.

Master Gushi's oldest son is a Master drummer. Master Gushi also plays the tyco drums and has taught Sensei Alan Dollar.

At a recent even, Master Gushi demonstrated his eccu kata accompanied by Sensei Dollar.

Note the difference here. The Martial Artist performs the kata and the drummer accompanies according to the Martial Artist's speed, rhythm and emphasis.

This is not the same as adjusting your kata to previously recorded drum music.

But it would be a challenge to do san sei ryu to a recording of a Master drummer accompaning a Master Martial Artist such as Master Shinjo.
There is much to make of every moment.

Wasn't Ginger Baker with Eric Clapton when he was with the group "Cream", unsure of spelling?

Yes and Cream just did a reunion tour or at least a few venues.

That Animal video was a classic! Thanks.
1978 doesn't seem like so long ago watching that video.

FYI, Buddy Rich was a Goju Ryu yudansha. He studied with Aaron Banks in NYC. (If my failing memory is correct.)
