Intimidation vs Throwing Sand

Post by Glenn »

A humorous take on what we have heard often about using tactics such as intimidation or throwing sand (or other objects) into an opponents face, in this case the two used against each other with hilarious results. From the comedy series The Exes.

One episode of National Geographics doomsday prepper TV series had someone spaying mace on the face of a tough man volunteer to see how effective it can stop him. The fleeing guy still got tagged. It may be more effective if trying to escape on rough surfaces.

Nothing is ever guaranteed. On the other hand in demos like that you have a person who 1) knows ahead of time that they are going to get sprayed with time to mentally prepare and 2) has the singular task of trying to push the pain aside and get the sprayer without any other considerations to worry about, that is far different from a real-world scenario of the sprayer potentially catching an agressor by surprise in a setting where there can be distractions from the agressor being able to follow through against the sprayer.
