One of the greatests gifts I have given to more than a few women is a safe ride home when completely wasted at a party. Even someone having had tee many martunies who elected to rest her pretty little head on my shoulder, I take her home, hug her at the front door, and tell her to go to sleep on her side.
It's the sheepdog in me...
At the end of the day you get more, and you get it from someone who you know really wants it. In my book that's a whole lot more fun. And for those who don't, you have a lifelong friend who will trust you with her life.

On the flip side...
Never let a Cavalier an inch above your knee
The humorous drinking song's other secret message is one of personal responsibility. In this world of way too many damn lawyers, the concept of personal responsibility and accountability goes out the bloody window along with the concept of honor.
Not in my book...
The thing that alarms me most about several advocating the legalization of pot here is the desire to minimize its effects rather than a desire to see it for what it is. Somehow with folks pointing out so many problems with alcohol (legal) and then saying pot (not legal) isn't that bad, I'm supposed to see the light and buy into the correct thinking. Sorry...it makes me do just the opposite.
Listen to the songs of the drinkers and the pot smokers. These folks have been there, done that. The message is there for those who choose to listen to it. For those who minimize known risk, I have no faith in them and what they preach. I am not convinced. On the contrary, I learn not to trust, and I learn to oppose their wishes.
Food for thought...
Spend some serious energy telling the world about risk before telling us things aren't so bad and people will do just fine. Don't feed us lies. You didn't buy the "Great Evil" bullcrap as a teenager with your BS meter on high, and I don't buy the "no big deal" poop either. Life is what it is.
Proceed with both eyes wide open. Be forthright. Tell it like it is. Spare us no details.
In closing, I give you the entire UVa drinking song. And I give you an "older" version of the song (as before) that makes reference to the old fraternity system on the grounds of Thomas Jefferson's University.
From Rugby Road to Vinegar Hill
We're gonna get drunk tonight
The faculty's afraid of us
They know we're in the right
So fill your cup
Your loving cup
As full as full can be
For as long as love and liquor lasts
We'll drink to the U of V
CHORUS
Oh I think we need another drink
I think we need another drink
I think we need another drink
For the glory of the U V a
So all you girls from Mary Wash
And RMWC
Never let a Cavalier
An inch above your knee
He'll take you to his frat house
And fill you full of beer
And soon you'll be the mother of
A bastard Cavalier
CHORUS
Oh I think we need another drink
I think we need another drink
I think we need another drink
For the glory of the U V a
Virginia was Virginia
When Tech was just a pup
Virginia will be Virginia
Whenever Tech grows up
And if you folks from Maryland
Don't like my brand of sas
You can pucker up your Terrapin lips
And kiss my Cavalier ass
CHORUS
Oh I think we need another drink
I think we need another drink
I think we need another drink
For the glory of the U V a
