This is Dave Young's Forum.
Can you really bridge the gap between reality and training? Between traditional karate and real world encounters? Absolutely, we will address in this forum why this transition is necessary and critical for survival, and provide suggestions on how to do this correctly. So come in and feel welcomed, but leave your egos at the door!
I honestly find it hard to believe that a communist can also be a millionaire.
I'd personally add "hypocrite" to describe those on Panther's list. They only want everyone but themselves to equally share the wealth.
And Panther, can we remind the gentle readers that Senator McCarthy had nothing to do with the HUAC and the ferreting out of communists who did in fact infiltrate the Hollyweird elite? He's wrongly gotten too much credit for the "blacklisting" that happened back then.
Absolutely Kevin! Senator McCarthy, being a Senator was not connected with the HUAC, HOUSE Un-American Activites Committee and has been given a bad rap and given way too much credit for the whole "blacklisting" thing. In fact, two things, that the hollywood (and most liberal) apologists neglect to either acknowledge or realize, come to mind...
First, that there were only actually four (yes four {4}) people "blacklisted" and those four were not fired or blacklisted because of Senator McCarthy, but rather by their hollywood bosses who realized that the general American public's knowledge of their anti-american beliefs would hurt the studio in the end.
Second, that subsequent to the fall of the USSR (give credit where it is due, the demise of the USSR was hastened by Reagan, thank goodness) documents were opened up by Russia that confirmed intentional Communist infiltration into Hollywood, the main media outlets (newsprint, radio, & TV), and the music industries (and also, while on the subject, the civil rights movement and anti-vietnam war movement)! Documents also contained information about the intentional setup of McCarthy to make him look like an extremist and fail in his quest to ferret out infiltrators... Those USSR operations were considered "completely successful".
(some good books about this include: A Simple Thing and The Marxist Minstrals, but there are others...)
