In a way they are all correct. No matter what changes Taylor was making in his life it still looks like he needed to physically separate himself from a bad element along with some members of his own family. Sadly there was still a thin thread connecting him to the life and that was enough for some of it to crawl across and touch him. And those enemies Rolle talks about may have been closer to home than he ever thought.
Hmm... Yes and no.

Yes, the network of friends from his past were connected to a bad element. In this case, his own sister brought the trash in the front door. The NFL now has a formal program where they work really hard with the rookies. They tell them to leave their past and start a new life before trouble finds the big money they will be making. It's cold, but a fellow's gotta do what a fellow's gotta do. It isn't just Taylor; ALL the young men who suddenly go from rags to riches need to leave their youthful past behind. Or else...

No, there was no group of enemies - as described by Rolle - waiting to "get" him. IMO the ones doing the talking aren't the ones you have to worry about.

This was just a group of worthless druggies trying to steal from "the rich guy." They got to Taylor's home from the outside in by taking advantage of friendships, family, and relationships. They were cold predators who smelled money and assumed it was theirs as long as they could take it. People on meth will rob their own mothers and neglect their own children. They are inhuman animals.

They didn't really care about Taylor; they wanted money. Taylor was a guy with a machete who scared the schit out of them in the middle of the night. He wasn't supposed to be there. Oops! Oh well...

You know the scary thing, Mike? ALL of us are 2 or 3 layers of relationship away from a scary, criminal element. Those of us who keep our mouths shut and fly under the radar don't attract attention to ourselves and the accumulated wealth we may happen to have. But God forbid you win the lottery or something. Next thing you know, the trash will be coming out of the woodwork like cockroaches.

Here's a good positive example. I went to school with Bruce Hornsby. Before he got famous, he was easy to contact. When he was out in LA first building his music career, he'd contact my sisters and ask to come over for a social visit. And now.... I haven't spoken to him in a long, long time.

And I don't blame him. Family first. Whatever it takes to protect your personal life is good by me.

I'll leave what Rolle said as a question mark, but the enemies that I was referring to were members his own family and the company they keep. As long as there was that connection, no matter how slender, there was the chance of this happening.

It is scary that this was brought onto him by his sister's association with some low life's. Her relationship with one of the BG's brother could have made it easy to track where Taylor was and give them access to whatever they needed to know. Not the first time a family member was used to get to someone.
I was dreaming of the past...
