I'm truly surprised that folks in the US are not more concerned when stuff like this is reported. The impeachment of Clinton seems truly insignificant when you consider bush has sold his own country out

I guess I interpret 'selling your own country out' differently. Really, the problem you seem to be having, is that yours and other countries listen to our left's rants. Personally, I don't see why. I don't listen to the political squabblings of European countries (or even Canada, for that matter). You can only learn so much about someone from the rants of their enemies, and you can do even less about it. It's really not worth stressing over.I'm truly surprised that folks in the US are not more concerned when stuff like this is reported. Listening to people in Europe, you'd think that Bush was the Antichrist. Granted, they've rarely had anything nice to say about the U.S. since it became a country, but still...
Well I wouldn't call those TV interviews "Rants" I would call them reporting the news.
bush has done more to alienate the US than any other president, so i wouldn't go blaming the left..... anyway his closest ally tony bliar was from the left ( who is now a multi millionare, so it just shows you the type of left wing hypocrites he likes, the ones who can be bought)

So when jorvik says 'selling your own country out' what is he referring to?
Are you cool with the steps being taken for a North American Union?
Or do folks think there will be no North American Union?
Do folks think the trade policies and others are simply good for 'American business', American workers and the world economy...?
Or do folks think these changes in priority are good for someone else?
Does a lack of congressional oversight mean anything?
Does the erosion of sovereignty mean anything or is that simply not going to happen?
Do folks think the current policies and independent power of the president simply important for national security or don't you know what power I mean?
Has anyone watched those three clips?

Everyone has an agenda, friend. Yes, that includes reporters and pundits, too.
You know, they used to say that about Ronald "Evil Empire" Reagan. If you go back in history long enough, you find that people really aren't that original, and their complaints are even less so.bush has done more to alienate the US than any other president...
Yes, it's terrible how millions get tossed around these days. Nobody earns that kind of money, after all. Tsk, tsk.. it's just terrible, how presidents and prime ministers walk away from their jobs with more than the shirts on their backs.anyway his closest ally tony bliar was from the left ( who is now a multi millionare, so it just shows you the type of left wing hypocrites he likes, the ones who can be bought)

interesting that nobody came out and called his reporting false or a lie isn't it
....I wonder why that may be?...possibly the rest of the newspaper industry has a different agenda.

I can't speak for the rest of the world, but here in England Regan wasn't hated.bush is without a doubt, and universally I would say........and after Iraq, folks here are starting to think that anything bad that happens to the US was brought about by following him and his policies...........and what folks really don't get is why people even listen to him
it's not like he is an academic, a war hero or even a successful self made business man...or even known for his high moral standards and sobriety.................so what gives??

Do you even know what a socialist is?.............in my country he would be called a champagne socialist he professes that what he is doing is for the good of the people ( nobody benefits though ) and all the time he feathers his own nest
.......Maggie Thatcher ( God Bless her) didn't milk her position the way bliar and his wife did, and she was a conservative
You see bliar opened the gates for mass immigration into the UK and made laws favouring immigrants over the native people...and all the time denieing that he was doing this
..............and look what is happening in the states....just wait until the mexicans are entitled to benefits denied to the average American.if you took the time to watch the clips that Jim has posted you would see that you are paying taxes for their benefit already.but if you are happy to do that go ahead

See, where you and I differ, is that you're all worked up about stuff you can't change. I have to enough to worry about, making enough money, getting an education, taking care of my responsibilities to my family (spending quality time with the wife, teaching my kids the things public schools don't have time for)... I just don't give a good dead duck right now about fantasies of Mexico taking over the US. I vote for the guys who say they're going to stop it, and if they don't, I vote them out. Or try to. The dems have a lock on my senate seats, so I have to put my electoral attention elsewhere.
That Europe is more upset with Bush than with Reagan isn't rocket science. The sheeple have a short memory. Every talking head points in one direction, and sheeple swallow it, hook, line, and sinker.
Got a problem with the relentless tide of muslim immigrants to GB? Do something about it. Draconian loss of the right to protect yourself? Do something about it. Blaming Bush/Blair isn't going to solve either issue.
You know, I won't vote for him, but if golden boy Obama actually gets the oval office, I'm going to laugh my arse off the first time he ticks off the left/loons/Europe. We'll be the Evil Empire all over again. Everybody needs their Emmanuel Goldstein.

Hmm... I guess that's why he was re-elected in 2004 when an Ivy League "war hero" ran against him. Go figure. How the hell did THAT happen?jorvik wrote:

What you may not realize, Ray, is that Middle America tends not to think highly of Europeans who view them as provincial. Let's just say the animosity is mutual. That causes no end of frustration on your side of the pond, and that's exactly the point. Look no further than your own country to view a snapshot of this. What about views on fox hunting in London vs. in the UK countryside? See what I mean?jorvik wrote:

There's plenty of ethnocentric and geocentric thinking going on here, Ray. One man's "progressive" thinking is another man's object of ridicule. Ultimately politics is a local phenomenon. People vote their self interest. Majority rules.
There will be no North American Union. The only thing going on here is lowering trade barriers (NAFTA), which in general is a good thing for all economies involved. Yes, some folks lose jobs to those in another country who make those products better and/or cheaper. But from the standpoint of the consumer, the end result is a good thing.Jim Hawkins wrote:

Competition is good. Inferior industry in any country (poor value) deserves to fail. That's the nature of capitalism. It works better than most any other economic model, providing corruption can be kept at bay.
All of the rest of it is just alarmist BS spawned by the crybabies who lose their manufacturing jobs and don't have enough training/education to find work elsewhere. It sux when you lose YOUR job, but it all works out in the long run.

Well one of the worst run campaigns in history by the dems might begin to explain it. Although many are still baffled as most working dogs come off more intelligently and articulate than does Dubya.Bill Glasheen wrote: How the hell did THAT happen?![]()

If you say so.. although I can't image why one would assemble the structure of a building if one wasn't intent on completing it...Bill Glasheen wrote: There will be no North American Union.
I think you're wrong and I think this statement is completely arbitrary based on the infrastructure being implemented now.. Globalization--unification, like gravitational forces are a natural part of the human equation.. Since the first sailing ships were built humanity began moving together and connecting as one, on all levels.. Government did not go from large to small, it went from non existent to small tribal rule, to kingdoms, to states and later nations and even unions where all must intermingle, including government, made up of: law, culture, commerce and sovereignty--you can't separate all these intertwined components of society, these things ARE society. Clearly, like gravity humanity's governing bodies have become LARGER not smaller, unification is in the blood and logical--the devil's in the details and the danger is in a larger and larger government with greater and greater power.
That's what a union is all about--eliminating all barriers..Bill Glasheen wrote: The only thing going on here is lowering trade barriers (NAFTA)
And barriers aren't all bad--they can ease growing pains and help ensure the welfare of your fellow countrymen, not to mention yours.
This is not the real benefit or driving factor, a nice talking point is about it..Bill Glasheen wrote: Yes, some folks lose jobs to those in another country who make those products better and/or cheaper. But from the standpoint of the consumer, the end result is a good thing.
The real benefit is unification.
Those folks used to making good money will need the price reductions because they won't make as much money...
Or unbiased analysis..Bill Glasheen wrote: All of the rest of it is just alarmist BS spawned by the crybabies..
Very short sighted and an apathetic minimization of the loss of quality of life for a huge number of people.Bill Glasheen wrote: All of the rest of it is just alarmist BS spawned by the crybabies who lose their manufacturing jobs and don't have enough training/education to find work elsewhere.
This country used to be run like a business.. It was the USA for Americans, to ensure WE the USA have the highest standard of living possible given our natural resources and collective talents FIRST and foremost. This is not the goal in play now or in the recent past..
Higher powers--commerce, multinational corporate interests, international banking--the natural drive for unification--are the driving factors now..
Not a national strategy, a global one, but this flies over everyone's head.. Serving "global interests" over your nation's interests--well there's a word for that..
It begins with a T..
But there's more...
This is not just about the unskilled worker, no, no.. It means that the MILLIONS of highly educated, intelligent, experienced professionals, happy to work for peanuts will be after your job Bill and many others in ALL professions.
The Global Economy cannot afford to pay your exorbitantly high salary Bill given the vast number of dirt cheap and highly educated geniuses all around the world dying to do your job and many other professional specializations.
Companies can access remote talent electronically or just ship them in if needed and put them to work, none of those old fashioned barriers to stop them.. This of course means you may need to take a pay cut to compete..a sizable one if you're still in the market.
But the good news is it's all for a good cause and will all work out in the end....

Here's to the new Union, bigger and better than the old Union...!

Kerrey's campaign wasn't run badly. Their candidate was flawed. I don't care how good your campaign is. If you're a bozo, you're not going to get elected. But go ahead and continue believing that Bush is both an idiot, and a master schemer. That he did better than Gore did in school doesn't matter to ideology, does it?Well one of the worst run campaigns in history by the dems might begin to explain it.
You know, the Dems tried two 'intelligent and articulate' stiffs in a row. Guess they learned their lesson this time around, eh?Although many are still baffled as most working dogs come off more intelligently and articulate than does Dubya.

What the candidate is--is largely what the campaign makes him.. Personal attributes help a lot but the campaign is what is responsible for creating an image to sell and a message strategy to win with. Kerry's campaign was horrible by any standards.
What makes one a good candidate that will sell often has nothing to do with fitness or articulateness of said candidate..
All sides have helped move us to where we are now.. The framework was not set by one party, person or one administration.
Re Bush: The reality is he comes off like a simpleton, be him one or not. IMO he is exhibiting early signs of Alzheimer's or dementia, unless it's an act or plain stupidity..
You like his contacts, his connections, ties, family history, his agenda, what he seems to carry in his heart, what his 'message' is, his vice president, that's great, but not me fella..
Oh and I'm naming McCain the winner by 3%... Assuming he has no serious health issues till then....

Oh and Bill... You should be ashamed to condone voting for anyone against stem cell research..

A campaign can't do much with a guy who accused GIs of atrocities in 'Nam, and put himself in for medals. A campaign can't do much with a guy who has someone else shoot a duck so he can carry it in front of cameras. A campaign can't do much with a man like John Kerry. So he was articulate but also a flawed bozo? Doesn't sound very articulate to me..
You mistake me, friend. I have criticisms of people too... they just aren't the same as the ones you have. And I'm not sharing. You like his contacts, his connections, ties, family history, his agenda, what he seems to carry in his heart, what his 'message' is, his vice president, that's great, but not me fella..

I'm thinking McCain wins by slightly larger margins than Bush won with last time around. Dems are panicking that Obama's messiah numbers haven't materialized in the polls.Oh and I'm naming McCain the winner by 3%... Assuming he has no serious health issues till then....

Tsk, tsk... now you're parsing. Even Bush doesn't oppose adult stem cell research.Oh and Bill... You should be ashamed to condone voting for anyone against stem cell research..

yeah but at least he fought for his country...what did bush do?.in fact as per one of my earlier posts, what has bush ever done...recover from alcoholism perhaps?
