It was only a matter of time! 4 down 6 to go.
8 of 10 provinces are calling for an end to the registry and 4 of 10 are on record as not willing to enforce these draconian measures.
It's time this legislation was struck from the books. Canadians write your MLA demand your provincial government send a loud message to Ottawa.
WE WILL NOT SUPORT THE GUN REGISTRY IN OUR PROVINCE,AND WE WILL NOT PURSICUTE OUR RESIDENTS. It's time for the Feds to listen to the people.
It's time to Repeal this law!

I'd like to know what study solicitor general Wayne Easter has to back up this statement:
"I want to outline very, very specifically that it is not our intent to go after legitimate gun owners. It is our intent to have them register under the system so that we can have safer communities and safer streets."
The ONLY ones affected by this legislation ARE legitimate gun owners!! What's does he think, that criminals are going to line up to register their guns? Safer streets? When do most criminals roam the streets with long rifles and shotguns? And since when did Canada have a serious problem with gun crime? I've always heard it was very low compared to the US.
Good for the stand-up leaders in those Provinces!!
Your's truly, proudly full of Canadian blood,

I spoke with someone, who will remain a nameless Canadian citizen, the other day and they told me that there were tens of thousands, perhaps even hundreds of thousands of bogus registrations sent in out of protest. According to this person, Canadian gun-owners were sending in their gun registrations with slight serial number modifications coupled with changes in the owners name and address. This person claimed they knew of a large number of such registrations that had been sent in under the name of the Solicitor General (Easter, I think he said) and other politicians who'd voted for this debacle. Also, last I heard this little registry that was to "only cost $2 million (Canadian)" had already reached the Billion dollar cost threshold!
Never give in, never give in, never, never, NEVER give in to tyranny.

Easter acknowledged some of those difficulties Friday and thanked gun owners for complying with the law.
"I want to thank those who have registered, for acting responsibly and complying with this important law," he said.
"By doing so you have provided police with vital information to assist in criminal investigations and have reduced the risk of firearms-related death and injury.
"I commit to further enhancement of the program to ensure it remains well-managed and accountable."
No one has every explained how the police having my serial #'s is going to reduce the risk of fireams-related death and injury. If anything the police knowing I have firearms increase my chance of being shot by the police.
The required courses one must have to register a weapon are not offered in my community. I don't think vehicle ownership should be a requirement in firearms ownership

.
One guy in Manitoba registered his nail gun, staple gun and soldering iron, and his wifes curling iron.
I wonder if my wrist rocket is a projectile weapon the police should know about it? Then there is the blow gun down at the shop I clean the air filters with. 100 psi .....maybe I better let the police know about that too. My sons got a pistol that shoots plastic darts with suction cups on the end........hmmmmmm.
This legislation has got to be repealed, over half the nation will not suport it.
