Personal Honor:

Dead concept in today's society?

What does honor mean to you?

Is it a code of conduct?
Is it a philosophy?
Is is patriotism?
Is it a moral/religious code?
A selfish and conceited notion?
Is it just silly?
Is it an antiquated idea which died out during the Dark ages or more recently the post Meiji era?
Is it all of these things?
~Or none of them?

What does it mean to you, personally, in this modern day?
And does your MA practice relate to it? (If at all) if so/not,
why?

Most of the old regulars who like the concept of honour are on the other Uechi site .

I`m sure Laird and Rick would discusss it with you , I`d be interested in joining in .

If mentioning the other sites inappropriate moderators please let me now and i`ll remove this and refrain form mentioning it .

And the rest of us have no honor?

no wonder they dont understand the concept when they choose to drop parts of it because of laziness .

As a synonm for virtue or upstanding behavior, Honor is a good thing As a synonym for reputation or image-consciousness it's not a useful mindset, in my personal opinion. If you search the archives on Van's forums, a couple threads about honor.

A good friend of mine once told me that anybody can ruin your reputation but only you can ruin your honor.

Not only have these colonial types destroyed the language, they also no longer understand it.

it`s the dam yanks and there need to change everything slightly so they feel special ...... and claim it as there own .

they couldnt win F1 so they invent indy cars ....

they couldnt handle the mental stress of cricket so they change rounders into a sport ....

they couldnt handle the contact of rugby so they make pads , change the rules ,and have a wordl series all by themselves

and as fer spelling , mines terrible , but at least I dont rewrite the english language to try and cover up my ignornace .
