I got this bad boy for Christmas, and it actually works. I appreciate the instant "deployment". A word of warning though: you need a sturdy door frame for the thing to sit on. Your body weight alone will not hold it in place. I only have one door in my entire apartment that fits the bill, but it holds my 230 pounds without damaging anything. If you love pullups as much as I do, it's worth checking out.

Thanks for the endorsement, TSDguy.
I saw this advertised on TV. On first blush it seemed like a reasonable device.
My interest has to do with the Firedragon test. We need to do this wherever we have a camp. And believe it or not, it's not that easy finding something that serves as a suitable pull-up bar. When I went down to various stores, all the in-door-frame pull-up bars they sold required you to screw brackets into the door frame. This device doesn't require that. It's a rather clever design.
Up until today, we've used branches of a pine tree for the pull-up station when doing Firedragon at Buzzard's Bay camp. This device may serve as a suitable alternative.
For what it's worth... I didn't like what the "Official site" was doing to my computer, and I cut it off. But you can buy the device and get some decent pictures at Amazon.com.

These days you can get all kinds of stuff at Amazon. I got my son's Ripstick there - during Christmas rush - with only a 48 hour turnaround using the cheapest shipping.

Re: Iron Gym pull up thing
I'm not sure I have any suitable interior doors, and knowing the place I'm renting, I didn't want to chance it, so when my son asked for one this year, I bought him one of theseTSDguy wrote: I only have one door in my entire apartment that fits the bill ...

and mounted it downstairs. It's perfect for a full-height, unfinished basement--very sturdy, nice knurling (not too sharp).
