Ok, so I'm only a kyu. What do I know? I found this interesting web site. Maybe somone can help me make heads or tails out of it. This is the main page -> Neko-do. But read this here -> Gallego. Now, if I read this correctly and he was 13 in 1974, that makes him 37 or 38.

Now read this (also from the same site) and let us know what you think. ->Gallego's Corner.

This may not have been the forum to post this is but this is one of the things I've found on my quest to find quality, honost martial art websites.

OK...this guy SCARES the %#*& out of me. I especially like the " In the begining God created the heavens and the earth and then I created (whatever the hell system he created.)

I hope this is a joke, because if he is taking money from people... then again if people are dumb enough to give him money..maybe they deserve what they get. Oh well...

The site is loaded with the right phrases:

“Another Kick Ass Site” and “Heaven and Earth are About to Collide” and the Grandmaster’s "philosophy is Christ centered.“

Be careful guys. This is a christian site.

I feel that it is important that we don't act as censors here. People will find the "crazies" who are computer literate enough to build a web and get their sites listed with search engines. It is Scott's job to evaluate sites and perhaps rate them in some way. Sites, such as the one being discussed, may be dangerous to the same people who latch on to Rev. Moon, the "Orange" people and other cults. If an individual is looking for a "savior" and has evolved beyond their parent's religious beliefs, they will find something. Our "banning" a cult-like martial art's site won't solve the problems people have who join these things. I'd rather see us discuss them in an open manner, hoping that innocent and naive individules, who will find these sites anyway, will see them for what they are. . . martial arts jokes and con men who are trying to make a buck off those who are professional victims.

Perhaps Scott can begin a new category. . . that accurately describes these sites.
Best,
George

Anthony,

You pasted exactly the lines I was referencing to about this site. My mom is a born again christian, and I can tell you, she is NOT in no way like that. In fact, just the lines you highlighted alone would set her off (in a christian sort of way) She is a believer in her faith, not a zealot damning those with different views. (Unless you say the crap like above).

But religion aside, I like the the idea of a seperate group. I want to go a bit beyond "?". Lets see what we can come up with with out it sounding too insulting. An old boss once told me (he was really old) that Tact is defined as telling someone to go to hell and they walk away smiling as they're on their way.

Hello Scott.

Visiting sites such as Neko-do are very informative and educational and present a window of opportunity to study others' martial arts views and philosophies. The site is a personal soap-box in which the author writes what he thinks and feels.

I visit websites to learn more about martial arts and the suggestion made of providing a special section of similar sites sounds good to me.

Allen

Sensei,

What a cool site. I will add it the Zen listings. But later, for now, it's time for Jets Journal (on our local MSG) to prep for todays game. (BTW: I also looked at that sites main page. Really done well. I'd like to get a hold of those midi's.

Adobe Premier? Thanks, I'll look into it. I have Digital Video Producer 4.0. They have a 5.0 but I can'y find it in stores. It's from Asymetrix. I was looking at MGI Video Wave but I'm not sold on it. I didn't even think to look at Adobe Premier. Will do..

I just went to Adobe's site and swaw the price of Premier. All I can say is... it ain't happening. I also went to Asymetrix's and MGI's web sites. MGI is looking a lot better.

If I get I'll let you know how it goes.
