I have four old, but functioning VCRs that I figured to trash come tomorrow. However, I vaguely remember reading somewhere a couple months ago that by setting the date to an earlier year, with the same day/date match, that old VCR will function just fine.

Anyone know which year that might be???

Sensei, That would be 1972, or any other leap year that began on a Saturday. Remember, 2000 is divisible by 400 and therefore a leap year, unlike 1900, 1800, 1700 which were not.

I wish i had my original VCR. through some twist of descrambling technology, I was able to get some pay channels free for years. Rats.

Kevin

PS I used MS money calandar to scroll back in time to check this date. When I went back to doing the bills, MS had put an additional $50,000 in my checking account. (On the computer only, not the bank.) I don't think I'll be looking back in time again.
