Problem replying to older threads

Post by Lori »

Hi Scott:

Found a thread from May that I tried to reply on - and receive the following message:

Sorry, we could not post your reply to this topic. Contact your bulletin board administrator and inform them that they may have may run out of available disk space. Their web host may be preventing them from posting new files.

I had this problem once before and it went away after Tony did something after an upgrade but for the life of me I can't remember what.

Can you help?

Thanks,
Lori

Lori,

Can you tell me where this happened? I just tested it on an old April post and it worked fine. If it comes up again, I'll try re-indexing the threads on the forum. That is my guess what Tony had done.

Hi Scott - still getting the same message when trying to reply to the thread on my forum:

"Women Rather friends than fight" originated by Cecil - last post May 28, 2000.

Gives me the same message I posted above.

Thanks for checking it out.

Lori,

I tried updating the threads but it doesn't seem to work. I then tried to post on another older thread in your forum and it worked. I have no idea why.

Tony, if you read this, please tell me what you did to fix it last time so I can (or you) get this resolved for now and the future.

Scott

Hi Scott -

Saw the post that you made - and I tried again on that old thread - it's from May if that makes any difference - see if you can get a reply to post on a thread where the last post is older than a couple months - specifically on that thread I mentioned above - I can reply to other newer threads - but that seems to be a cut off point for some reason. I still get the message about running out of disk space on the server -- weird!

Hi Lori,

Definatly weird. As you can see from the MPEG post, which is a year old, the problem is only on your forum. (As far as I know.) It may be from the problem you had last week with the picture. I don't know what Tony did to fix it last time. I tried updating the threads but it didn't work. I will see if I can get help on the UBB help board. I wonder if something got corrupt in your threads.

Hi again - The last time I had this problem was when I had my name pulled off of the name of the forum. Any threads generated after that change were fine - any before that I could not reply to - I thought Tony re-indexed and then all was fine - but maybe he did something more than that... hopefully he'll see this soon and can enlighten us! (He started a new job this week) (BTW - congrats on the new employment Tony-san - hope they treat you as well as you deserve!)

I updated all the threads previously, twice. I just now updated only Lori's forum. Let's see if it worked.

Sorry Lori, it still didn't work. I will try one more time tonight when I get home from work. I will update the whole thing in the specified order (that I just read Image).

Hopefully that will do the trick. If that fails, I'll cut and paste that old post and make a new one for you.

Scott

Sorry Lori, it still didn't work. I'll try the UBB support site later. Hopefully that will help.

I wonder what Lori could have done to break her forum? Image

People only make mistakes, Scott, but it takes a computer to really muck things up!

I thought that was what women really needed men for - to fix things when they get broke? Image

I like Al-sensei's theory best!

Why is it always my forum that gets the bugs anyway? Must be forum discrimination! :P
