Moment of Truth

Post by Van Canna »

From the blade forums:

quote:
If you or your friends still don't want a gun, get OC spray, (like FOX, which is used by many police agencies) and if your friends are fit enough, I would advise them to take a Model Mugging course to get proficient with defending yourself physically. Model Mugging is a unique form of self-defence that was developed in 1972 following the brutal sexual assault of an accomplished female martial artist. She was overpowered by the fear and psychological violence of a real-life assault situation and froze. She was also unable to overcome the learned use of the controlled-striking technique necessary in practicing martial arts and therefore when given the opportunity to strike she was unable to do this effectively. This incident inspired her to create Model Mugging, a self-defence course which is unique and designed specifically to help women defend themselves against sexual and physical assault. More than 15,000 women have successfully completed the Model Mugging course since it was established.

Stay safe!

"Model Mugging" courses have come up a number of times - what I've read about them is all very positive - does anyone have any links or additional information about the programs and where they are offered that they can post here?
