Black Belt Announcement

Post by Rick Wilson »

The Wilson Karate School has its first Black Belts that have come all the way through the school.

Dave Austen who began his training on October 31, 1995 and Peter Sullivan who began training on January 9, 1996 were promoted to Shodan on June 13, 2001. David Mott Sensei chaired the board. Their dedication to training has paid off and they will be entering into a new level of learning. Congratulations.

(George Sensei: I hope the certificate requests have made to you by now?)

Congratulations at reaching a point in your lives when the real learning 'really' begins!! Image I salute your dedication not to Uechi-Ryu or to the Martial Arts, but to yourselves - for seeing something within you that is now a 'bit' more complete. Image

I am sure that all of Uechi-Ryu is happy for you!!

Best regards,

John

Rick,

Congrats to you and your students! A very proud moment indeed. I can barely remember my first students' test. Here's to many more in the future.

Congratulations from all of us at the Brockton Uechi-ryu Karate Academy to Dave and Peter on their recent promotions to the rank of Shodan, and to Sensei Rick Wilson for having the dedication to bring these "newbies" all the way from beginnner to first dan graduates.

Rick: I can't wait until I can make the same statement about the BUKA.

It will still be at least a couple more years though!

See you at Camp.

Congratulations to David Austen and Peter Sullivan on their first major karate rank. And Rick. . . This is a huge step for you as well. Congratulations.

I have all your test information and will bring certificates to camp for Mott Sensei's signature.

Best,
George

Rick

Please congratulate David Austen for me. I believe he was the fellow that visited my Raintree dojo several times over the years (part time runner). You've obviously brought them through at a measured pace and I'm certain they deserve their promotions.

To All:

Thank you for your kind comments and words of encouragement.

To Bill:

Yes that is the same David Austen, and he still talks about the warm welcome your school gave him and the great classes.

To George Sensei:

Thank you.

Just happy to know the paperwork got there safe, that was all I was worried about.

Thanks,

Rick
