I'll be translating our dojo website into English and French over the Christmas break, so maybe I'll post it up after that so you can have something to look at.

It's a good idea James! :)
During Christmas holiday I should make some time free to remake our website also.

Please let us know, when ...

Re: Pretty as a Venus Fly Trap

Hi James
Tokyo...You live close to the source and thanks for your input.
I “think”(thought) the leg break in “Hawk chases Sparrow” is unlikely because a person with a leg caught in that trap will not allow it to be broken in that manner. However, proof it can be done is that you used successfully ...

I met the French guys at our small tournament in August in Tokyo. Shimobukuro Sensei was great, and the French giant he brought with him won the tourney.

Eva, all of you at the Belgian dojo should come over to Japan for next year's tournament. It's great fun, and my teacher is crazy. Shimoji ...

Hey!

"Hard to learn, easy to forget", as a Shodan pointed out.

That's funny. My teacher said the opposite thing, but exactly the same. "Seichin: Easy to learn, hard to remember."

CANDANeh:

You're cat stance thingies are a little bit different than what I learned, but as I've read here ...

Express yourself freely. Nobody else here holds back!

You may regret that. I can be found all over the internet making an ass of myself. :)

You don't have to like a one-way beating, by the way.

To be honest, I'd rather not go through with it, but my dojo options are severely limited where I ...

Bill

Thank you very much for your reply, the detail was totally unexpected, but absolutely appreciated.

I'd would have liked to think that I have developed enough in my study to be able to see the differences in Uechi styles and be able to take them into my own. But I guess I still have a lot ...

Thanks. I think I've been lucky in having a few good teachers so far (I move a lot), and I think it's helped seeing different interpretations. I was just wondering why they were so different.

(I stay out of politics in general. I don't even know what flavour each of my teachers has subscribed to ...

I can see that there are different real world applications for kata movements, but I was surprised to find that the kata themselves were different in subtle ways. Kanshiwa's final block and shoken, Seichin's opening, and a whole bunch of Seisan are, at least a little, different at the different ...

I wonder how the different styles of Uechi fare against each other in competition. I'm not a fighter, nor do I really understand the politics of Uechi (I'm new-both to Uechi and the forum), but I've seen at least three different teaching styles, three different interpretations of the kata, and three ...
