Beneficial or overrated? How can the TMA improve by exploring and being aware of other fighting methods?

The Dragon likes to twist, wind, and coil. No rules apply; an attack will occur when you least expect it.

Very good stuff.. Marcus, thanks for posting that..

Lots of similarities to WCK and Uechi...

As in this "stance":

Weight on the rear like our chum kiu, lead leg ready to stick or kick, closed guard with hands in the centerline and out in front in an advanced position.. Lots of 'trapping'...

Facing these kinds of styles is what the full depth of our sticking training was intended for IMO..

When I have played with southern stylists I have never felt more at home and also challenged with the inside focus of the system.

Some of this stuff wouldn't work for me on my machine..however application no1 is plain ole "Nikkyo"...and I can do it well better than this dude.
but hell I wish I'd invested in some "Street cred black pyjamas"....that and a condisending attitude will always win the respect of the masses........never underestimate the power of human stupidity....Grasshopper 8) :P ..and don't keep up with the "joneses" drag them down to your level

Was the first clip Southern?.I thought it looked more Northern, I know Hakka Mantis looks a bit like Uechi, and no high kicks but the Wah Lum stuff is as acrobatic as Tae kwon do
