People Apparently forget when it is convenient fot them to do so. to wit:

I remember one September

The trains they were a loaded with people leaving town;
they tracks gave way to the ocean, Lord
and the trains they went on down.....

That is only part of the song I learned in college for the "Glee Club"

Just prior to Katrina, the history channel aired the story of the meterorologist who lived in Galveston who spent most of his life on the theory that Atlantic force Hurricanes could not hit Galveston.

In September 1900 they hit.

People forget and then people die.

So you will forgive me if I haven't written on Martial history of the west lately.

As an aside, the Germans blasted the Dutch "poulder system" (dyke = poulder=levee) which slowed the Allied advance towards Germany considerably, not that Montgomery, who commanded the Allied (British Canadian North wing) was ever a man in a hurry.
