Sensei

Post by f.Channell »

When he died I felt sorrow, but my heart said "thank you" to my old Sensei. Sometimes we wait for the formal teacher, we imagine it has to be a superhero without defects, and just next to us is the Sensei. Be aware that anyone can teach you, but don't lose the opportunity when you find the one that awakens you. Anyone can use the clothes or look like a professor, but the Sensei is a touch of magic and brings a soft wind of wisdom that you will never forget.
These words are good for us who teach to hear and strive for.
After all if we stay on the path long enough, we all become sensei.
And some need to recognize when they have found one.

This statement is soo true..

back in 99 i start my uechi training. fell in love with the style pretty much after learning sanchin. Only studied for a year, before having to move to New Brunswick where there is no uechi, for shcool

4 years pass and I find myself in sydney Nova scotia under the instruction of sensai Macintyre and Macdougall ( I apologies for mispelling of names).

and these guys just "wowed" me. sounds corney but they made me come alive with my uechi.

Our teachers appear in many forms.

Master teachers
are found not only
on lonely mountain tops
or in ashrams of the East.
Our teachers may take the form
of friends and adversaries -
of clouds, animals, wind and water.
Moment to moment, our teachers
reveal all we need to know.
The question is,
are we paying attention?
When the student is ready,
the teacher appears.
Everywhere.

...I don't remember the source for the above quote - but it is one of my favorites.

Cool passage above. I made one spelling correction. (read to ready) What is the "c" word in line 7 supposed to be?

Thanks.

Justin wins.

That's what I get for typing fast and not proofreading. anyway - in spite of my typos (I fixed clouds) it is still a great quote.

Good quote. Ive been lucky in my Uechi training to have a teacher that awakens my inner warrior. And kept me motivated.

And now you'll be dabbling in Krav Maga... good luck with that system.. definatley some dangerous techniques there, and battle proven.

Can't wait to hear how it turns out.

Damn, I picked "clowns".
I still think "of clowns, animals, wind and water. " is a nice image.
I was dreaming of the past...
