Hi! I am new to these forums. I was a student of Sensei Charles when I was very young, and I recently came across an old post saying he had suffered a stroke. How is he currently doing? My family and I had a great amount of respect for the man and have him in our thoughts and prayers.

Cindy,
Last I heard he has been recovering better than expected. I started out training with Joe and Charles back in '89. Off and on from the Hwy 60 Dojo to the Lithia Dojo. I am currently at the Seffner Dojo of Ken Washington. Joe has moved to San Antonio, FL and his students still teach in Brandon at the rec. center and Athletics Club in Plant City. For more up to date info on Charles contact Uechidude on this forum and he can help you out even more.

Thanks for the replies. I started with my family around 1992 (I think!) at the Lithia dojo. There was some sort of disagreement at some point, and we ended up at Ken Washington's dojo. Once I left for college, things got too hectic to go back. For a very short time, I worked with Bob Yogis in Lakeland, but things again became hectic.
I was just recently doing some searches for information on Uechi when I came across the forum and the really old post about Sensei Charles. I will be sure to PM Uechidude.
