A world without america.

I like how US history starts right before (or I guess after) WW2, and before that all of history would be the same.
without America the last fifty years would have been so different that trying to retroactively predict it is utterly pointless.
Frankly, I do think the world is better off for this country but that commercial was pretty ridiculous.
Apparently no one else could've come up with a Polio vaccine.
Imagine a world without britian?
Imagine a world without france?
Imagine a world without Italy?
EDIT:
Hell imagine a world without greece.
Imagine a world without CHina?
All these of nations contributed overall to the world greatly, made great discoveries and what not.
So...it's a very general question this video addresses.

I think patriotism overall is a good thing.
People should always love thier country.
They should realize where these emotions come from, why and know it for what it is, it should have a basis.
I love canada.
I was born and raised here.
My father also telle me how lucky i am to be born and live in this country.
What actually bothers me is the lack of nationalism toward canada in canadians.
Were very lucky people.

Er....what Canadians have you been talking to???? I can't think of one person I know who lives here who isn't proud to be a Canadian. Just ask anyone during the Olympic hockey games.

Just think of the things we invented:
The telephone
The zipper
Basketball
The light bulb
Insulin
The Zamboni!!! (okay not the Zamboni) but here are others:

The world would be in the dark, naked, unhealthy (for some) and unable to call anyone about the hockey/basketball scores without us!!!!

(Didn't mean to hi-jack the thread....)

Justin - Alexander Graham Bell lived in Cape Breton - while he was there he invented the telephone. End of story. He was a Canadian (just ask any Canadian but whatever you do, don't tell a Caper he wasn't a Caper!!! - They are extremely proud of the fact he was living there and invented the phone).
I think sometimes we have too many borders in the world in any event!

Natural selection invented insulin. I dunno who made it available pharmaceutically, but it wasn't a nation, or a culture, but a person/team (unless the nation did something to make the work possible, eg an NIH grant). I think we should be able to speak up for our nation when our nation has done great things, and accept when its erred, and leave it out of the picture when it's irrelevant (for example, why invoke God, or nation, when chewing tobacco and knocking a sphere around a grass and dirt diamond with a stick? I don't get it). Irrational feelings about your nation get you some positives but also some downright hideous negatives.
