See if any of you remember these guys. I got into them back in my punk rock days.

Wow... the screaming 60s!
I do remember the song, believe it or not. I also remember those days (early Beatles, Beach Boys, etc.) where you couldn't hear any of the music because of all the screaming pubescent females. A little before my own pubescent days though, so I totally didn't get it.
Also note the bowing protocol at the end - something you don't see any more. Early Beatles actually wore uniforms (matching suits) back then as well when they played.
Dig those hip-shaking go-go girls!
For you young-uns, this is the era that Austin Powers movies parodied.

Was Moulty really a Uechi guy? Must have been fun with that hook.
Found this little nugget...
In 1967, Benson, Morris and Causi left the The Barbarians to form Black Pearl. The Barbarians disbanded in 1968, though not before a version of the group incorporating Denny Romans aka Demian Bell (from Maypole) as the lead guitarist and lead singer, with Walter Parks as Bass player. They combined martial arts and music by rigorously rehearsing nearly everyday at a Karate dojo owned by Moulty's brother-in-law.
So who was Moulty's brother-in-law?

I don't know. However another source has the same line almost word by word, with another clue included (emphasis my own).MikeK wrote:

"They combined martial arts and music, by rehearsing nearly everyday at Moulty's brother in law's Karate dojo in Boston, with rigid discipline doing their training before each rehearsal"
