Atta boy Scott! I'm a terrible speller, so will find this feature most helpful.
BTW, Susan, who does all my document checks, caught a typo in the store banner. Sponsor is misspelled!
She also caught a number of my 'typos' throughout the site!

Where do the new words get stored when one does spell correction? Somewhere on the server, or somewhere on the local machine?

Not sure but all goes through spellchecker.com or something like that.

Be nice to find out where. Does everyone have their own personal auxiliary dictionary, or do all the new additions go into a combined new one?

I don't know. I'll try and find out. Good Question.

The spell check is terrific. The spell checker people offer a whole suite of services. All I need to do is remember to use it.

Info I just got a few minutes ago, Scott:
Allen,
The words are saved in a cookie on your computer until the cookie fills up (which rarely happens). If it does, you are given the option of storing the file on our server with a name you designate.

SpellChecker.net

That answers why the same waychee words keep coming up; I keep cookies shut off to maintain some semblence of privacy by preventing others from monitoring my travels across the internet.

Yo Scott,
The light dawned on Marblehead a few moments ago. Many who frequent these forums are NOT aware of the new spell checker because either they do not come to the "Technical Support" forum, the little bell inside their head when they see the three buttons hasn't rung yet, they are suspicious or wary of trying it out, or don't even see the center button located below the list box where I am writing this.
Therefore, a quick blurb on everyone's forum may be quite appropriate at this time.

Nice feature to get in place. I have to admit though I probably will end up not using it much at all... Frankly, I just dump the idea(s) on and be done with it. Editing comes in only when I think I didn't get the idea across successfully.
There are folks who can write really well in these forums. Other folks struggle. This may actually be a psychological deterrent for participation. It's too bad. The spell checker may be one more aid for encouraging their participaton.
Good work.

Allen,
Thanks for the research. I've been busy lately.
I posted a message in Bill's forum which is frequented quite a bit. Besides, the submit button is right next to the spell check button. It's just a nice feature that came with the upgrade. I am not going to post a message on each forum.
If people can't see the button right next to the submit button, how do they see a punch coming
Also, if they choose not to use it, it's OK with me. I am no English teacher. As long as I can understand what the poster wants to say. I like David's view on it.

David.
I struggle from a disability, but I write anyway. Screw it! The head trauma from my accident gave me occasional slowness to express myself although the thoughts deluge-in a mile-a-minute, frequent dyslexia in my speech and in my written words [something I wore the shame off long time ago] is the norm, although it in its place were substituted creativity and other mental tools.
It takes twice as much time and plenty of extra effort for me to get the wright right sometimes, but I always succeed. If I can get out here and express myself properly with the written word, anyone can. There is no shame to fumbling on the keyboard, not being able to spell properly or not being able to get the grammar and syntax typed-in properly the first time. And if anyone scorns anyone else's "style" of writing, fluck'em.
<hr>
Scott,
Pop the notice on Van's and Len's forum too, if you will, kind sir. Not everyone goes everyplace.
