Allen,

Books on order.version 6 on order.

bought a new comfy chair too.

Only work about 16 hours/wk,4 day work week in winter,so there's lots of time to work on this new challenge. Looking forward to it.
Hoping that course materials get here on time.

Much to my regret, I am going to have to opt out of the class.

The holiday season is my busiest, next to graduation season, for booking shows. I am currently facing no days off until January 23rd and, with the day job on top of the show schedule, my wife is going to start wondering where I am and what I'm doing.

Many apologies. Maybe next time around.

As for homework, yes, absolutely. Programming is learned by doing, just like karate. You can learn ABOUT things by reading, but you learn to DO them by, well, doing them.

I just got all my stuff today, so I am ready. Also, my wife, Brandy, is interested in the class. She is currently a student in IT at the University of Phoenix online, and knows a good bit about computers already, but very little about programming. I will be getting her all set up on the Forums and things, and of course she has her own computer, but we will share the book.

You should see a message from her later this evening.

Hi I know Arnie told you that I might sign up for your class well I want to since I will be taking some college courses later on that are to do with visual basic and so I thought this would be a good place to start.

It's been a long day... Just like when I have a critical code review due at work, the printer jams or the network dies, as I was getting ready to upload some stuff to prepare my new website the server went down.

When you get there, hit "File" then "Print" from thhe Adobe menu. The paper prints nice, and if you have a color printer the results are even much nicer.

Tomorrow I'll post the installation chapter because most everyone has their software.
