Tests to indicate Health

Post by emattson »

The amount of time to walk 3-10 meters, with an extra 2-3 meters to speed up and end, is a reliable indicator on how healthy the person is. The test works for ages 18 - 64 and elderly at 65 and older. If the gait speed is over 1.1 meters per second for one 50 to 59 years old, then he/she is healthy. Slow gait speed of less than 0.7 meters per second is an indicator for being at risk for falls, hospitalization, etc. Below is a link to a useful page describing more.

This can be an excellent indicator on if you're overtraining, in my opinion. If your feet are sore or injured a ligament, slow gait from these can be a sign you need to take it easy.

Mayo Clinic documented that another excellent indicator for good health is the number of pushups a person can do before tiring. See link which teaches the best way to do a proper pushup.
https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-life ... t-20046433

At 25, healthy men should be able to complete 28 pushups at one time and women should do handle 20.

At 35, healthy men should be able to complete 21 pushups at one time and women should do handle 19.

At 45, healthy men should be able to complete 16 pushups at one time and women should do handle 14.

At 55, healthy men should be able to complete 12 pushups at one time and women should do handle 10.

At 65, healthy men should be able to complete 10 pushups at one time and women should do handle 10.
