This would be another good forum-wide announcement - moderators should know that this is a feature available to post a notice that will appear on all forums. Some "regulars" only have time for one or maybe two "favorite" forum pages - and may not make it to all of them - missing a thread like this. Check with Scott about the forum-wide announcment feature. You may have noticed it with Mike Murphy's CPR class. This is another perfect choice for that.

Great idea Lori. Scott is doing that as I type.
Now fellow karateka, get your orders in. On an earlier thread it appeared that orders for 12 suits would be no problem and that is the minimum lot size that Mr. Blauer would make a 'special price' on. Let us not disappoint him or George sensei.
By using your credit card to order over GEM's secure line you can delay your payment and stretch it out as long as you like!
Regards, Rich

Ladies and Gentlemen
What can I say? I'm sad to see that there isn't more interest here. These suits and some good training partners will go a long way to catapulting your fighting skills (used properly, of course)...and there aren't really any good subsitutes.
This is one of the only times I know of that Coach has offered a discount to a civilian organization on the suits. I paid full price for both of mine, and I'm a member of his organization!
Don't pass this up. Sensei Mattson has talked about using these suits in future dan tests. Get 'em while you can get 'em cheap!
And yes, this is cheap: I challenge you to find me a cheaper, better suit out there.

GEM sensei: Since we cannot seem to get sufficient interest to order 12 suits at a time, we can still save $50 each off of the regular price if we order at least three (3) at a time. The price for three or more complete suits is $849 each US plus S&H and service charges. Since we have orders for four (4)in hand that will be adequate. You could bundle subsequent orders into groups of three or more.
I'm ok with the additional $24 to get a suit rather than wait who knows how long. Perhaps the persons who ordered the other three will agree. Let us know.
One more thought here. How about if we hold off on the order until 10/15 to give others a chance to get in on the discount and then go with what we have. If this offer expires for lack of interest I'll just order direct.
C'mon karateka.

I have 4 paid orders in hand. Lots of promises though....
If we don't get our quota by Oct 15th, I'll let everyone deal directly with Tony and you can pay full price.

As one who ordered, I want to keep this at the top of the thread too! C'mon, people. What's a week's overtime for?
BTW, David, it looks like you live on the other end of my state. When the suit arrives I'll bring it down for you to test drive.

Got an e-mail notice today that the order is going out with the numbers we have.
Four. Not the twenty we planned on or the dozen we were willing to settle for. Four suits.
Actions, not words, show where one's priorities are. There is a clear difference between the way one trains and the way one says he trains. I hope everyone is clearly aware of the decision they have made.
And thanks to Tony, Tim, Rich and Glasheen sensei (and Mattson sensei, of course) for making the opportunity, and the choice, available.

Sigh...

Well, while I'm sorry to say this, I can't say I'm surprised. A friend of mine (who is also a Uechi practitioner) had a discussion about this a few months ago, when the High Gear first started getting discussed with great interest on these forums. He was fairly certain that this would flare up a bit, then die. I hoped he was wrong.

"Yeah, but this is just a fad" - you say. Well guess what...you're right. It is just a fad. But not because it's not a "traditional" art, or a "traditional", but because for all of the talk we see on these forums about how great Coach Blauer's stuff is, and how more people need to train like this: But when the chips come down, all anyone has is excuses.
Something is only a fad if you don't dedicate yourself to it.
I apologize if I've offended anyone here, but I admit, I'm a bit hurt to see this. Coach dragged himself a long way that weekend (while he was supposed to be on vacation after his wedding), as did Phil and Matthew. And as the person who provided the bridge between these two groups, I feel a bit of responsibility for the time they took to do this.
Rory, Tim, Rich, Bill...thank you. You guys all put your money where your mouths were. I hope you enjoy the suits. I'm sure Coach will do anything he can to enhance your usage of them.

I am sorry to hear the the number of suits is not where we may want it. It is too bad.
Good equipment, I think, greatly enhances one's practice and help take one's skills to another level. You can go a bit harder and faster. You don't fool yourself into thinking, "Oh, I could have taken him down. It's just me pulling back so I don't hurt him" Or worse, "Didn't matter he pulled, I would've blocked/parry/evade that anyway." Yeah, sure...
Frankly, I've spent over $1,000 for four sets of stick fighting equipment already this year, never mind various mitts, thai pads, training knives, etc., etc. I consider this money well spent as the quality of training has improved. The downside is that I can't afford two Highgear suits this year.
I had hoped that George sensei's class would end up with a couple of suits. Doesn't look that way. Well, purchasing the suits next year will be high on my list, even at full price. I think they will be worth the expenditure.

Just a reminder..... Whenever GEM sensei can collect orders for three suits the price each is $849 plus shipping. That is $50 off the regular price so get your friends together and get a few suits.
