Proud of Martial Artists

As some of you know I have been training for 28 years (no mean feat) and as I look back I have met some wonder and kind people in the martial arts.

I also think the manner in which people conduct themselves on this forum is something that must be noticed and commented on. I find the people here courteous, respectful and interesting.

Despite vast differences in schools, ages, gender, back grounds, styles and so on, it seems maturity and respect prevails for the most part.

I also happen to be a Christian and I am a Moderator on one of the nets largest Christian Chat Debate rooms and I have to say that martial artists, especially in this forum, put many Christians to shame.

Thankyou people for your adherence to the maxim "Karate begins and ends with courtesy"!!

You have something to be proud of and never overlook it!!

Respect is what Karate is built upon, according to my very first(Uechi) instructor.
It's always worked for me.
I think if I were ever in a teaching position I would try to pass that on.

Well put. I get up a half hour early for work each day to enable checking the postings, it is always time well spent

Just in case you sometimes feel its a thankless task...
Those folks who moderate the forums each have their own reasons for doing so. We are compelled, and we derive our benefits through action and contribution. For those that "get it," the return is greater than the cost.

Some days the "thanks" come in more obvious and direct ways. Funny...those are the embarassing days. Image
