Bruce Lee Rank

What’s interesting is that Bruce Lee doesn’t have a black belt. Perhaps because he studied and mastered such a wide variety of fighting styles.

I think he is seeking knowledge and skills which is a good thing. He even reads a lot of philosophical books like Tao Te Ching, to be able to quote be like water.

Water is free flowing, formless and infinite in motion. It doesn't cling on to shape, form, doesn't take labels. So being like water is really important to excel in martial arts to lead a healthy and peaceful life.

"It doesn't cling on to shape, form ..."

Water molecules have strong cohesive forces thanks to their ability to form hydrogen bonds with one another. As a kid, I used to play with floating sewing needles on top of water in a glass. Also when you pour water being shined by a powerful and fast strobe light, you'll see the water form into many droplets.

YouTube has a great video on demonstrating water tension in space. Water really clings well onto his hands.

But I see Tao Te Ching's point about water flowing. It reminds me of the fishtail blocks I occasionally see--poetic motions. Water is powerful as what I experienced while body surfing in large waves breaking over. It could be gentle, a current gently carrying a boat.
