I've gotten smarter since my PC crashed in April and I lost everything. I got a zip drive and have put everything on disk.
I have W98 and have gotten all the Y2K downloads from MS, but why take chances? it is Microsoft after all. Good tip any day regardless of Y2K scares.
If you don't have a zip drive, backup files you can't afford to lose. I lost all my financial files when the drive crashed. Did that ever ******.

Kevin,
Any time a total system crash happens it *****!
Zip drives are `da bomb! They are worth every penny! Iomega has a great product!(shameless plug for Iomega, Now where is my check?)
Microsofts built in backup program works fine too.
Tell you what, don't count the 3.5" floppy out either.I stilll use it to back up 90% of my documents and other small files. Plus floppies are free* for the most part.
Cheers,
Chuck
*free is 100 floppies for $20 with a $20 rebate.

CDROM devices are handy for backups to, Kevin. Sale prices are less than a dollar for a 650 meg platter.
