The grapevine tells me that our famous Anthony Licalzi passed his 2nd dan test with flying colors last Thursday.

Yeehah!

yes! It's true! I actually made it through a Nidan test with passing marks! I've uploaded a couple of video clips to the ftp site of Me and Dave Berndt (tested for Sandan) out of Orlando working together to get through the test.

Here is Dave Berndt attacking me in Seisan Bankai (27.5 Meg Mpeg):
ftp://ftp.uechi-ryu.com/pub/uechi-ryu/video/seisan_bankai_sandan_attacks_nidan.mpg

This was our Dan Kumite (17 Meg Mpeg):
ftp://ftp.uechi-ryu.com/pub/uechi-ryu/video/sandan_vs_nidan_dan_kumite.mpg

And of course, our Kumite (27 Meg Mpeg):
ftp://ftp.uechi-ryu.com/pub/uechi-ryu/video/KUMITE_sandan_vs_nidan.mpg

Sorry for the large size, but the segments where long and you couldn't see the picture very well at the next lowest resolution.

That's it, man! It's going to be a cable modem here for sure. 27 megs is much too large to be downloaded via a meager 56K. My how times have changed. I remember when 300 baud was the rage of the day.

I remember a couple of years ago, Tony, that you had difficulty containing yourself with a certain individual at work. I'll bet given the same scenario today, it would be a different scenario.

Allen,

Scott is going to set at least one of them up for streaming, so you'll get to watch on your modem. With a cable modem, you could download any one of those files in under 5 minutes (depending on the speed of xpres.net's server).

work...he heh...don't get me started on that! You're right, the guys who used to butt in line, they don't do that no more.... Image

Amen.

Finally downloaded the clips. Your performancer was awesome. Keep up the good work.

Got to go watch my son play drums in the parade downtown (one of the things he has to put up with in order to play in the jazz ensemble).

Congratulations to Tony and David!

I downloaded the bunkai clip. Took about 6 minutes with dsl.

My email server was down all night. All email disappeared. When it came back up about 5 minutes ago, received 2 new email, sent within 10 minutes of server going back up. All my mail for last night and early this am may be lost! So if anyone sent me anything, please resend.

Tony,

Well since we spoke thru email I'll say that those clips of you are AWESOME!!! Or, as us (ex)military guys used to say... Out-#%!^in'-standing. They are going to be a great addition to the streaming video page.

I will get those streamers up as soon as posssible. It took me all night and this morning to dl those clips. Such is life for us modemers. Plus, with all the new video clips going up, I have to re-organize the page.

First I have to convert them into AVI's before I run it thru to asf. No biggy, I do it all the time. Give me a couple of days or so. I'm putting all 3 clips up. If you got more, send 'em on thru.

Once again, CONGRATS!!!!!!!

Scott

Man, what a popular guy you are, Tony!

I'd be disappointed if you don't become a great Uechi-ryu master instructor someday. You sure have all the right stuff! Image

Famous? Outstanding? Out-#%!^in'-standing? Honoured? Awesome?

Man! I've never felt this good about myself in my whole life? Are you sure you guys aren't thinking about someone else?

This is where all the hard work really pays off. when your friends congratulate you. Thanks so much for the kind words.

Definitely an amazing performance by Tony. I can say that I was privileged enough to be able to attend and actually see the test.
I can say as a white belt (yellow now though) that if you don't walk away from seeing that without being moved to perform at higher levels in your own training than something is wrong.
Making this only the second time I've actually met Tony, each time he blows me away.

Personal thanks to Tony for all that you did at the tournament. I was extremely apprehensive about even going and you made it an enjoyable event.
I don't know what I would have done there without you!
Thanks so much and congratulations on your new rank,

Kate
