Word is out that Intel will be shipping the Pentium 4 by the end of the year. It is their first 64-bit chip, and it is running at 1.4 GHz, with a bigger level-2 cache.
Accompanying this, and to be released at the same time, will be the new Windows 2000, the first 64-bit MS OS.
