Getting video off your computer!

Although I can upload a video clip from my Hitachi to my computer and edit it there, I've been running into trouble when I try to download the edited clip to my Hitachi and viewing it on the Hitachi.

My computer recognizes the Mpeg1 formated video and sends back a mpg clip to the Hitachi.

Failing to solve this problem, what is the least expensive way to transfer a clip off my computer to tape. (either vhs or 8mm)

Just looked, they have the Digital Video Creator 2 which is *NOT* USB, it's a PCI interface. It does ASF files on the fly though. That's pretty nice.

I was hoping my "perfect" digital camera, could do everything. . . Apparently, the camera cannot read the edited video clips. . . perhaps a different mpeg format than that created by MediaStudio.

Any card with a TV out will transfer video from your PC to video or another TV. You will need to capture large though or you will lose a lot of clarity.

I was using my ATI all in wonder. I bought the Pinnacle DC10plus. The clarity to tape is good however you have to rendoe in the program and there are transition and title problems.

The easiest way I did it on my other computer was to make a video, play back at full screen while setting my VCR or camcorder to record. If you can capture at 640x480 (or better) and play it back without jittering you will get a really good picture.

I went to CompUSA today and the only thing I could find was ATI-TV Wonder, which the salesperson told me would get video into my computer. He then recommended a Grand Ultimate 2000 for getting it back to my recorder. So far, I've hooked up the Grand Ultimate2000 and haven't been able to get it working. Naturally, tech support is closed for the night, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow for help.

I'll try the ATI-TV Wonder next.
