Here is something funny from the Italian forum:

Ciao ^__^
ma, voi, brutti maschilisti che non siete altro, non avete sempre sostenuto che le ragazze che praticano AM seguono la regola del 99 (cioe' che il 99% sono delle cozze mostruose)??
MAH!! Non vi capiro' mai... ;o)))))

*ciao*

Translation: Ciao__ but you, ugly chauvinists that you are, have you not always maintained that the women who practice martial arts follow the rule “99”__ meaning that 99% of female practitioners are ugly as monsters? Hell, I will never understand!!

Ciao__ Alita B. Angel

And Daniele responds:

“dai, 99% è esagerato, forse il 95% va bene^___________^ (nella mia di palestra ce n'è una molto carina^_^)

Ciao Daniele

Translation: Oh, come on __99% is an exaggeration___ maybe 95% is okay__ in my dojo there is one female who is kind of cute!

And Alfonso chimes in:

“Beh, io nel TKD mi sono trovato abbastanza bene, c'erano delle belle praticanti che praticavano senza reggiseno!! Image)”

Translation: Well, I, in my TKD classes find myself well. There are some beautiful female practitioners working out with no bra!!

[snip]

Oh well, the nerve of those Europeans Image

This reminds me of stories I have heard about dojos in the seventies - where ERA was moving strong and from what I understand, taking your tops off in sanchin really meant taking your tops off in sanchin - regardless of gender!

Hey - I wasn't there - it's one of those legends passed down to the small fry like me... who am I to doubt the stories of my seniors? Besides - that was "up north" - not down in the bible belt were we are! Image
