Doesn't that just say that socialism is a component of fascism in the same way that uranium is a component of a nuclear bomb. I'm not defending socialism here, but it's not really "the same thing as" fascism. You can theoretically have a socialist democracy, for example, you just can't have a fascist free market. In the real world socialism isn't really an either or proposition. There are some socialist programs in the USA, more in some countries and fewer in others.
